Bio
A southwest Ohio native, Ruth has lived in the Scranton area for 15 years. As a child, she helped her contractor father build houses, and has had a lifelong interest in learning to design, build and create new things of all types. Often called a pioneer, she was the first to bring a full-service teaching and supply bead store to Northeast Pennsylvania.With her partner Annette, she opened Beads & Crystals in 2004. In 2005, she suffered an aneurysm two months after opening the store. Working in the store has been the best rehabiliation she could have had. She credits her steady recovery to the understanding and compassion of her loyal customers.
